Dirty Cello is AMAZING! They put on such a great show, I think I could see them every single day and never get tired of them. 10/10 would recommend!

Amazing show in an intimate setting! The interaction between the musicians and the crowd is what this band is all about. It was a Sunday matinee, so the crowd was mostly seniors, although I spotted fans of all ages enjoying themselves in the audience, and the fanbase is very diverse. Everyone left in high spirits, and IMO most of us had never been loved like we were loved by Dirty Cello. We even got to suggest songs at one point, and I was lucky enough to have my song chosen for performance. It was the best cover of Dolly Parton's "Joleen," that I've ever heard. Dirty Cello has a super cool Valentine's Day concert coming up, which is taking place aboard an aircraft carrier in the Bay, and it sounds like it could be one of the top events of the 2025 season. Catch them closer to home at the Hop Monk in Sebastopol in February!

Dirty Cello is an amazing band who is worth seeing again and again! They have new material added each concert along with some of my favorites, “Don’t Call Me Honey” and “The Ballad of the Onion Rings.” A must see!

About Dirty Cello

Dirty Cello...cello like you’ve never heard before.

From China to Italy, and all over the U.S., Dirty Cello brings the world a high energy and unique spin on blues and bluegrass. Led by vivacious cross-over cellist, Rebecca Roudman, Dirty Cello is cello like you’ve never heard before. From down home blues with a wailing cello to virtuosic stompin’ bluegrass, Dirty Cello is a band that gets your heart thumping and your toes tapping!
"Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical." Lou Fancher, Oakland Magazine.
"The band plays every style imaginable, and does some fantastic covers. (Their rendition of “Purple Haze” is incredible.) But what is most spectacular about them is hearing the depth of soul in Roudman’s playing—it goes beyond what most people would expect from the instrument. She plays it with so much heart, you’ll wonder why more bands don’t have a cellist." Good Times Santa Cruz
"The group seamlessly careens from blues to bluegrass and rock in a way that really shouldn't make sense but somehow does." LA Times
