About 56 Hope Road

The name 56 Hope Road pays homage to the positive influence that Bob Marley's message and music has on the world. 56 Hope Road was Bob Marley's original address.

The first part is going to me shooting from the top of my head, then I will write from their CD album about the group.

I saw these guys live in a small bar in Lincoln, NE. They started out as a typical band just playing in the background, but they were great!! After only 2 songs, they had the attention of EVERYONE there. I bought all three CDs that they had sitting on a small table. I would compare them to numerous jam band types with a rock feel to it. They have a great stage presence, saxaphone solo, AMAZING drum solo, sweet stand up bass, wonderful keyboard and a chill/cool/talented lead singer. I guess I really enjoyed the show and have really been enjoying the CDs I bought: All Points Connect, Drop It All & Once In Our Lives.

Description below taken from JamBase.com:

Known for clever songwriting, lush vocal harmonies and one of the tightest rhythm sections on the scene, 56 Hope Road travels around the country sharing their message of optimism and an organic blend of rock and soul with fans of all ages. They have mastered the beat of the highway with an average of 20 shows a month, performing 217 live performances in 2006 and 219 in 2005, earning the “#1 Road Warrior” title from the online music resources, JamBase and Home Grown Music Network. Bonded like a family, 56 Hope Road’s music has an unmistakable honesty and openness. Uncanny, intuitive communication generates an easy interplay on stage, making even the most densely layered tunes sound effortless. They allow the joy of spontaneous creativity to color their song-based arrangements - neither losing their musical center, nor restricting its growth. The music is acoustic funk at its finest with sounds reminiscent of G-Love and Special Sauce, Richie Havens, MMW, Grateful Dead, Paul Simon and Gomez. Creating an “acoustic funk explosion,” a typical show produces a positive atmosphere and results in a dancing festivity.

Tony Gisondi (This Is Modern) says it best describing Once In Our Lives: “On this, their first live album, 56 Hope Road shows us what they are truly all about: performing.” The compilation was released in October 2005, which features tracks from 2004 and 2005, recorded during live performances at 10,000 Lakes Music Festival (Detroit Lakes, MI) and sold-out Chicago shows (Wise Fools Pub and Double Door). The album includes stellar performances, presenting artists from the 56 Hope Road family. The band has also released two studio albums (Drop It All-2004 and All Points Connect-2002) and is planning on issuing their fourth album in spring of 2007.

Rising stars on the festival scene and national touring circuit, 56 Hope Road has appeared at 10,000 Lakes, Wakarusa and Summercamp music festivals, and has supported a variety of national artists such as Page McConnell of Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Tom Cochrane, ekoostik hookah, Umphrey's McGee, Spyro Gyra, Verve Pipe, Bob Schneider, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, Drums and Tuba, Tea Leaf Green, RAQ, Jazz Mandolin Project, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, O.A.R. and DJ Le Spam.
