蔡依林

蔡依林 (Simplified: 蔡依林 Pinyin: Cài Yī Lín English: Jolin Tsai)

...is a Taiwanese singer born in Taipei, Taiwan on September 15, 1980. She was discovered through a singing competition and was signed to Universal Music. She released her debut album Jolin 1019 in 1999 with fairly good sales. Her following albums were also popular.

Changing her record label to Taiwan's Sonymusic (later, SonyBMG), she released her fifth album <<看我七十二變>> (Magic) in 2003. It sold over 320,000 in Taiwan alone, making her the best selling female artist in Taiwan to date. Since then, she has gained her fame throughout Asia, thus gaining the nickname "流行教主". Her following album <<城堡>> (Castle) and <<野蠻遊戲J-Game>> had each sold over one million copies worldwide.

Jolin is also a spokesperson for products such as Pepsi, Motorola, 今生 accessories, Maxfactor (蜜斯佛陀), McDonalds, mp3 players etc. The <<樂園>> and <<唇唇欲動>> MVs were also produced for Motorola V360 and Maxfactor's lipstick, respectively.

Around the time <<唇唇欲動>> appeared on Taiwanese television, she also decided to change her label to Capitol, under EMI. Her new album release in the new label, <<舞孃>> (Dancing Diva) also spread her fame around Taiwan once again.
