About The Words We Use

The Words We Use is currently a 5 piece band based out of New Haven County, Connecticut. In spring of 2011, the band went to Ohio to record with Caleb Shomo (Beartooth/Attack Attack!) for their debut single. On August 19th, 2011 they released that single, entitled: "I Like Your Style, Kid" - which in fact also features a guest appearance by Caleb and former member of Attack Attack!/My Ticket Home, Sean Mackowski. The band tried to push the envelope and blend the best of the best musically to try and put themselves to the forefront of this newly emerging sonic genre all before their first show. After digitally releasing their debut EP, "Morals", which was tracked & mixed at Chango Studios in Florida by engineer/producer Jake Garland (Memphis May Fire/Broadway) and mastered by Cameron Mizell (Ten After Two, Sleeping With Sirens) and even featured a guest spot from Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens), the band then released physical copies of the CD over the summer and launched their official merch website which T-shirts, crewnecks, windbreakers and other accessories for sale. The band also debuted their first music video for the song, "56 Chances", shot & directed by Sam Link (Memphis May Fire, Sleeping With Sirens, Tyler Carter, Crown The Empire) of Collapse Studios in the fall of 2012. With the release of the new music video, came another milestone in the bands career. TWWU signed with Pale Horse Management to cover all management/booking duties and with Buzzin' PR for any public relations/publicist tasks and at the same time,!also released a music video for the song, "For The First Time In A Long Time"; the second single off the Morals EP. The video was created by director, Michael Defilio, of Lefty Scissors Productions. The video can be found on various internet video sites including the band's own YouTube channel. In March of 2013, the band started writing what would become the single, "Absence". This song was subsequently recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA under the production of Jim Fogarty, in early summer of 2013 and had an accompanying music video that released in June. After the release of "Absence", the band embarked on the "Red, White, & Freedom Tour", alongside management labelmates, Strangers To Wolves, and headliners InDirections. Playing to the midwest, the south, and the east coast, the tour was a success. Upon arriving home and taking time off to write for the new upcoming EP in the fall of 2013, the band experienced some inner turmoil amongst members, and thus ensued a lineup change and the parting of ways with their management. In April of 2014, the band acquired new members and continued on into pre-production for the upcoming EP. The band is currently worked with acclaimed producer/engineer Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men, I See Stars, Emmure) for their new EP. The band recently released their new single 'Triple Threat' on Christmas Day 2014 to YouTube and the digital copy on Jan 6th 2015 to all online retail music sites. In the late winter of 2015, the band was reunited with original guitarist, Zach Sarlo, and soon after his brother, AJ Sarlo, joined the band as well. They also released their new single 'Love Is War' on April 2nd, 2015 which has a guest feature from Miss Fortune frontman, Mikey Sawyer. The bands sophomore EP, 'Entitlement', will be released in July 2015, and they will then be embarking on multiple tours in support of the release in spring/summer 2015 including the DigitalTourBus.com sponsored 2015 'Wear and Tear Tour' along with guests Alive/Alone, Despised Virtue, and more.
