About Karina
There are three artists who have performed under the name Karina.
1) Karina Pasian (born July 18, 1991) is an American singer and pianist. She is currently signed to Def Jam.
Karina is of Dominican and American descent. Pasian first began taking piano lessons at the age of three from her babysitter, and began classical piano training while in kindergarten. She began working with a vocal coach when she was eight.[1] She learned how to sing in seven different languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, French, Armenian, and Arabic), and is fluent in two (English and Spanish).[citation needed]
In 2003, Pasian met Quincy Jones, and he invited her and her family to his home in Bel Air, California. Soon after this, Pasian performed and won on Star Search. She also performed at Quincy Jones' We Are The Future concert in Rome.[1] On June 22, 2007, Pasian performed at the White House for President George W. Bush in celebration of Black Music Month, making her the first person of Dominican descent[1] to perform there.[4]
Pasian became the subject of a bidding war when she was thirteen between three major record labels, Def Jam, Interscope, and Bad Boy Records. She ultimately chose Def Jam in 2006 because they "made the best offer.
Albums:
1. First Love
2) Maribel Llaudes aka Karina is a Spanish yé-yé singer. Her career was in its peak during the late 60s to mid 70s.
3) Karina is a pop-ballad singer-songwriter and actress as well as beauty pageant contestant from Venezuela. Her first album Amor a Millon was released in 1987 and she has spent time in and out of the spotlight since having several musical “come-backs.”
