Haxan absolutely smashed it. From start to finish the raw energy and talent shone through. These 3 girls always put 100% out there for their audience, im sure they have gained more admirers and fans. Haxan deserve these size crowds and even bigger to match their talents. Highlight for me.... great track called Skeletons. Superb rock songs, performed magnificently.

This was my first time at Hangar 18. I’d meant to see Häxan in Cardiff a few weeks ago, but I was ill at the time, so I made up for it by treating myself to a trip to the coast and an AirBnB. The venue was smallish and a little rough around the edges. That’s no criticism – every functional music club is, and should be. A decent sized stage at one end and the mixing desk at the back. The handful of staff were young and super friendly. Haxan launched into their set. And their first song? SKELETONS. The ridiculously catchy single from 2020. After playing the album on loop for weeks, I was equipped to sing every word. I was loving every minute of it. On the left, Sam was lead guitar and vocals. She probably hates this but I’m sure she’s been compared to Avril Lavigne a couple of times. I’d say Avril with a bit of Joan Jett, Lzzy Hale or Suzi Quatro. She’s insanely confident, belting out high notes that would kill bats, and riffs that would shame many guitarists. She’s very much a powerhouse. In the middle, Jess beat the hell out of the drums, and while also a petite gal, the work was impressive as hell. On the right of the stage, Harriet is the band’s bass player – a picture of laid back confidence. They finished the set with ‘Bring the Thunder’ which is an older track, not on the LP, but just as good as the rest.Häxan are just megastars in the making. Whatever they’re doing, they’re doing it right. All the damn way. The songs are unique, original and memorable, lyrics are smart and often deep, the production and playing is super crisp. Brilliant.
