About M4TR

M4TR (Music 4 The Revolution) brings you good times for the end times. Dance through dystopia with sonic dimensions of new wave, synthpop, disco, funk, soul, reggae, and rap thrusting you back and forth through time. M4TR began as a protest project in 2015 by founder AJ Solaris (songwriter/vox/synths/acoustic guitar/studio engineer). In 2025, M4TR released its 3rd studio album Love Is The Revolution and a ten-year retrospective on Bandcamp.

Other notable releases include the No Tomorrow EP (2023), the album M4TR LIVE (2024), the Good Times For The End Times live EP (2025), all featuring M4TR's second live band - Laura Cook, Mark Davenport, Rich Andrews and Owen Williams, with hits No Tomorrow, Hooks and Siren Song. During COVID, AJ released the second lockdown solo album Next (2021) with the singles In It to Win It , Colorblind and Clean. The project kicked off with debut album Rock To Resist By (2018), supported by M4TR’s first live band, featuring Monkey God and Walkout On Their World.

Since 2017, M4TR has played across the Washington DC area at Jammin Java, The Renegade, Pearl Street Warehouse, Public Bar Live, The Pocket, The Runaway, Songbyrd Cafe, DC Pieshop, Adams Morgan Porchfest, Crossroads Music Fest, Launch Music Festival, Tesla Takedown, Hands Up rallies and more.
