About Project Pat

Patrick Earl Houston, known professionally as Project Pat, is a seminal figure in Southern hip-hop, hailing from Memphis, Tennessee. Born on February 8, 1973, he is the older brother of Juicy J, co-founder of the influential group Three 6 Mafia.

Project Pat's career commenced in the early 1990s, initially collaborating with local artists before releasing his debut solo album, Ghetty Green, in 1999. His distinctive voice and unfiltered storytelling quickly garnered attention. However, it was his 2000 appearance on Three 6 Mafia's "Sippin' on Some Syrup" that catapulted him into the national spotlight. The following year, he solidified his status with the release of Mista Don't Play: Everythangs Workin', featuring the hit single "Chickenhead," which became a Dirty South anthem.

Throughout the early 2000s, Project Pat faced legal challenges, including a parole violation in 2001, which led to a prison sentence. Despite these setbacks, he remained prolific, releasing albums such as Layin' da Smack Down (2002), Crook by da Book: The Fed Story (2006), and Walkin' Bank Roll (2007). His collaborations extended to artists like Rick Ross and Brisco, and he continued to influence the genre with his authentic narratives and signature Memphis sound.

In recent years, Project Pat has channeled his experiences into community outreach. Alongside his wife, Alicia Houston, and Michael Brown, he co-founded the Breakin Baggs Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Inspired by Mark 16:15, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation," the foundation focuses on ministering in prisons, schools, churches, and beyond, sharing transformative messages of hope and faith.

Through the Breakin Baggs YouTube podcast, Project Pat documents and amplifies the work of the Go Foundation, reaching diverse audiences and touching lives with compassion. This digital outreach serves as a platform to promote the Gospel and the goodness of God, ensuring that every soul reached knows they are seen, loved, and called to a greater purpose.

Project Pat's journey from the streets of North Memphis to hip-hop prominence, and now to dedicated community servant, exemplifies a life transformed by resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
