About Clemens "Ardek" Wijers
Clemens Wijers is a Dutch composer and musician best known as one of the founding members of Horror Metal act “Carach Angren”.
He started playing the keyboard from the age of 7, followed by eight years of keyboard and music lessons at his local art school. Throughout his teens he accompanied the local youth choirs on keyboard and piano at rehearsals and many live performances. In secondary school he became more interested in symphonic and metal music, and started to combine those two elements in a band.
In 2002, he studied one year at the Tilburg Conservatory to refine his skills while continuing to compose music. After several band incarnations, he formed the symphonic black metal band Carach Angren with his friend and former band mate Seregor and his brother Namtar. He writes a large part of the band’s music, using classical music as both a foundation and an inspiration. After 6 official album releases and over hundreds of shows worldwide, Carach Angren continues to gather widespread acclaim from international media outlets and an ever-increasing number of dedicated fans.
Highlights:
[Lindemann]
In 2014 Clemens was invited to work for the band Lindemann, a new collaboration between Till Lindemann (Rammstein) and Peter Tägtgren (Pain/Hypocrisy). Clemens composed two songs for the band: “That’s My Heart” and “Wer Weiss Das Schon”. These songs plus his orchestral arrangements throughout the other tracks can heard on both albums released by the band (Skills in Pills 2015, F&M 2019). In 2023 Clemens composed and produced the track “Alles für die Kinder” for Till Lindemann’s solo album “Zunge”.
[Carach Angren]
Carach Angren’s new album “Franckensteina Strataemontanus” has been released in June of 2020 and got raving response from both press and fans. The album was mixed by Robert Carranza (LA) and the title track was accompanied by a dramatically dark video directed by Zoran Bihac.
[Solo Work]
Clemens has also released several solo works consisting of hybrid-orchestral & industrial music. He signed a publishing deal with SuperPitch (FR) and many of these tracks are currently synched to commercials and films worldwide.
[Film Composer]
Clemens has scored several short films in a variety of genres from Horror to Animation and Drama.
