9:30 Club

Been to the 9:30 many times. Good place to see a show, not fancy (to say the least), neat old building, decent acoustics, plenty of beverage stations. I generally prefer to sit in the second floor balcony area as a home base a venture to the main floor when I get the urge. It's a little less hectic upstairs (usually).

This venue attracts the top names in medium size bands of all different genres. It's my second favorite place in the Baltimore/DC corridor, topped only by the Ram's Head Live in downtown Baltimore.

The neighborhood surrounding the 9:30 ain't the greatest, keep on your toes. There is a secure lot to the left of the building as you face the club, it fills up quickly. A few other lots are in the area, especially up the street to the right of the club (as you face it). I've never had any problems on the street here, but it seems possible. I don't know about subway access, I assume you can get pretty close.
