THE TOP 50 LOCAL SONGS OF 2013: Central Track
#5: Rania Khoury- "Sweet Apple Pies"

Local Albums of the Year: 2013; Central Track
#8: Rania Khoury- STONE WOLF

12 North Texas Artists to Watch in 2014:
"Rania Khoury's debut album Stone Wolf was a hell of a freshman effort for the summer of 2013. The big, booming, bluesy sound of her ballads and strong vocal belts set her apart from a lot of female vocalists in Dallas. Khoury is a skilled guitar and piano player, and takes to both in her compelling and flooring live show." -Dallas Observer

Lone Star Sounds: New music from Rania Khoury and more
"With style to burn, Arlington native Khoury, whose Regina Spektor-ish voice is endlessly elastic and prone to glottal gymnastics unlike much else in the local scene, handles high drama and smoldering romance with equal aplomb. But the record’s sharpest tune, by a good margin, is the spectacular Sweet Apple Pies, an effervescent, acid-tinged kiss-off that would, in a just world, be in heavy rotation (psst, KXT?). Khoury’s Stone Wolf packs a serious bite." - DFW.com

You like indie rockets Dr. Dog? Check out these three local bands: "Dallasite Rania Khoury and her band of bluesmen breathe ease and melody into every song they play. But it’s the singer’s voice that bleeds Dr. Dog-like conviction, whether she’s hollering at the pinnacle of a tune or gracefully climbing scales." - The Dallas Morning News; GuideLive

Rania Khoury- I Hope Your Life is Swell:
"Though the distinction gets thrown around a lot, nobody else around town currently deserves the "best artist you probably haven't heard of but most definitely should" tag more than Arlington native Rania Khoury. As prim and polished as the backing play on her 18-months-in-the-making, August-released debut, Stone Wolf is, it is Khoury's voice that does much of the heavy lifting on the release." - Central Track

Concert Picks for Thursday, Oct. 3:
"I’ve put Rania Khoury’s “Sweet Apple Pies” on various self-made compilations lately, and though some of my friends have had mixed reactions, they invariably always at least ask who it is. That’s a positive sign for the artist."- D Magazine; Front Row

Hot issue: Five local acts to keep an eye (and an ear) on:
"You won’t forget the first time you hear singer-songwriter Rania Khoury’s voice. It’s a marvelous, melodious thing — soaring and stretchy and filled with peculiarities that make you sit up and take notice — and it’s the engine fueling the Arlington native’s assured debut album, Stone Wolf. It was produced over an 18-month period, and features killer songs like Sweet Apple Pies." - DFW.com
