About Kevin Chambers

Kevin Chambers spent the better part of 2014 writing, recording, and collaborating with several musicians in New York City. Born out of a lifelong love affair with the piano, his first EP, entitled The Way Home, showcases a gift for emotive storytelling supported by lush arrangements and a musical sensibility reminiscent of yesteryear's film scores.

In the months following his initial EP, he began writing songs for another release and was performing a show each month by the beginning of 2015. At a radio gig in mid-March, however, he suddenly had a debilitating headache and blacked out a few minutes before going on air. About a week later, he came to in the hospital and learned that he had had a stroke. An AVM/aneurysm had burst near the speech center in his brain, and he would need surgery, speech rehab, and physical therapy to recover.

Following a couple weeks in the hospital and a few weeks of rehab, he was lucky enough to receive brain surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Miraculously, the surgery was a complete success and he began his recovery immediately. Returning to the stage just 5 months later, he played Musikfest 2015 in Bethlehem, PA, before moving down to Nashville.

As the year came to a close, he launched a Kickstarter to help him record his second EP. Several of these songs had been put on hold as he recovered from his health issues. With the dawn of 2016, a successful Kickstarter campaign propelled him into recording and releasing his second EP, entitled Starting Over. The EP is a collection of sketches about a 20-something year old kid from North Carolina figuring out life and love in New York City - from remembering an old friend when you just need to see a familiar face, to trying to find the words to tell someone how much you love them.

Since its release, Chambers has been nominated for Best USA in the Toronto Independent Music Awards, he has performed in the Emerging Artist Showcase at Blast On The Bay 2016 in Florida, and has most recently played as a Top 10 finalist in the Wildflower Arts & Music Festival 2017 in Texas. In the meantime, he has continued to play concerts in and around Nashville while also writing songs with several writers in the city.

In the final quarter of 2017, Chambers embarked on his first ever House Concert tour -- a 50-day trip traveling by car from Decatur, GA, all the way up to Needham, MA, and over to Chicago, IL, with multiple stops along the way. He played 10 separate shows for friends, family, and many new listeners. He is currently planning another HC tour at the end of 2018, so be sure to get in touch with him if you're interested in hosting!
