About A Band Called Lucy
With a sound equal parts intimate and desolate, Lucy deftly maneuvers through Indie Rock and Pop, creating their unique sonic world.
Formed in Saratoga Springs, New York in 2014 by singer/songwriter Jake Brooks, guitarist Johnny Gravitt, vocalist Ali Genevich and drummer Kyle Squires, Lucy has gone on to support a number of national acts, including: Cold War Kids, Circa Waves, July Talk and Spin Doctors. The band has spent much of 2017 crafting their sound with producer/songwriter Tommy Eichmann (Alex Winston, VHS Collection, Twin Wave).
Mixing the guitar-rock emphasis of Tears for Fears and Kings of Leon with songwriting influence from artists such as The National and The War on Drugs, Brooks creates Pop influenced melodies alongside Gravitt’s bright jangly guitar hooks.
