The English Beat

The music was amazing however the lighting was dark on the stage. Not sure who looks at these reviews but it need ms to be told.

Great show. Lively, lots of dancing and smiles all around. Dave Wakeling is a great entertainer. The venue was great, but they could pump a little more AC in there, as it was very warm on crowded floor.

The English Beat brought it hard as they always do and I so adore this band! My fave band of all time! Do yourself a favor and go see them ASAP! 💖

Saw the English Beat last in about 1982. It was one of the most magical music events of my life. Tonight’s show was no different, true magic with a great chemistry between the diverse band members. Such a good feeling, all live all sweet, all pure. Not going to wait so long to see them again. Dave Wakeling is in my opinion one of the great pop song writers of our time.

Amazing!! Dave Wakeling is an awesome performer and so interactive with the crowd. He’s funny and entertaining. The toaster was also amazing! He was so much fun to watch and looked like he loved what he was doing. The whole band deserves kudos!

Absolutely great! A couple of old songs returned to the line up as well as a few new tunes. Terrific harmonies accentuated Mr. Wakeling's songs. The band is in as fine a fettle as I have ever experienced. The sound at Tupelo is perhaps the finest of any venue we have attended. Between the club and the band this was an unqualified success.

The English Beat is the hardest working band on the circuit. Simply the best! Place was fantastic, acoustics and great views of the stage. The food was also very good. Definitely 5 Stars for the band and venue.

The English Beat was amazing!! From the unbelievable venue to the interactions from the band, this has been one of my favorite concerts. This concert felt like it was family performing for family that they actually liked! And yeah, their voices are as clear and strong as 30+ years ago. Seriously.

It was great to see Dave and the band, great sound but they didn’t play long enough. They said they had to catch a plane to London.

Great ska sound with Dave and the newer members of the band. Didn’t play my favorite song - “I Confess” - but it still was a great show.

Concert was awesome as usual for all English Beat concerts. Loved the change up in their play list especially their new stuff! Can't wait for the new album to drop supposedly in March?! Only thing I didn't like was the same obnoxious group of drunk hooligans in the mosh pit that were there fucking it up for everyone else as the English Beat show earlier this year at Underground Arts.

Great concert, at first seemed that sound system was not loud enough for us to hear him. But 2 songs in it was much better. I hadn't danced so much in a long time. Great concert!

Had a blast as far as seeing The English Beat, the show was fun and I had a blast. The new venue still has some kinks to work out but all in all, I believe upcoming shows at that venue will get better with time.

Saxa may be gone, but the new saxophone player brings the favorites alive with a reverence that made me smile. Dave Wakeling has lost some range to voice but more than makes up for it with positive energy and his love of entertaining!

great energy in every song, awesome 1hr 20min set. Dave & the boys haven't lost a thing. Go see them when come to your area, you will be glad you did.

LOVED IT!!! Every time I see them I have more fun than the last time! I'm gonna try to see them again this weekend as well.

The first show of their UK tour contained a few technical problems but these were overcome with humour and Dave Wakeling and his band played a great set lasting 1 + 3/4 hours.

A brilliant gig where Dave Wakeling's Beat played a set of all the classics and more. The support band Capone & The Bullets also played a great set.

The Beat always puts on a fun, engaging show. Wakeling and his band were excellent as usual. You can tell how much he loves the music, his audience, and his art. He is always a pleasure and I have been going to his concerts since he first appeared in America.

The English Beat is always a welcome breath of fresh air! I am looking forward to the upcoming album For Crying Out Loud! The new songs have a sense of familiarity to them and were well received by the audience. Mr Wakeling's voice could melt butter on the coldest day. It is always fun singing along to crowd favorites such as Tenderness, Twist & Crawl and Mirror in the Bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the English Beat classics End of the Party and Ackee 1, 2, 3 during the East Coast tour. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the Brooklyn Bowl show in NY and hearing more new songs and February release of the new record! #SkaNerdGirl ##ENRGYZRBunny
