Steve Edwards

Steve Edwards is a solo electro-acoustic guitarist and vocalist based on the Shropshire / Mid Wales border, who regularly gigs at pubs, wine bars, hotels, bistros, and also at private parties. Playing a diverse mix of popular covers, he typically has a lively style incorporating live-looping & occasional harmonica, but can also chill things down when required!

A late starter (at age 37), Steve's first ever public performance was at a friend's charity event in May 2012, and the opportunity was presented to him on the morning of the show. He took a major leap of faith, thoroughly enjoyed it, and hasn't looked back!

His first prepared-for gig was in June of 2012, where he played 3 half-hour sets in 3 separate venues as part of the inaugural Welshpool Music Festival, and was subsequently asked to play supporting slots with a number of Mid Wales based acts at pub venues, charity events, and also played at Crash Festival 2012.

After these early supporting slots, Steve was thrilled to be given his first headlining night at Welshpool's Royal Oak Hotel for what was then the town's only regular live music session, "Oak Live". This was quickly followed by one support slot, and then a headliner at Ludlow's "The Wine Bar", and a night of his own at the Black Lion in Llanfair Caereinion.

2013 kicked things on further, with many more new venues played, his first wedding party done, culminating in a headline slot at The Royal Oak (Welshpool) New Year's Eve dinner.

At time of writing (September 2023), Steve is in his 11th year of gigging, and has clocked up over 500 live performances, and has now played well over 600 different songs live.

The range of artists covered are really wide and diverse, and Steve's aim is always to mix things up and leave the audience wondering what could be coming next. Requests are always encouraged too!

Artists covered include The Jam, Paolo Nutini, Elbow, Harry Styles, Bruce Springsteen, Amy Winehouse, The Who, Otis Redding, Coldplay, Oasis, U2, ABBA, Ed Sheeran, Frank Turner, The Beatles, Kasabian, Jack Savoretti, R.E.M., Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Stereophonics, The Killers, Ryan Adams, Biffy Clyro, Queen, and many, many more. He's even been known to tackle Dizzy Rascal, and Beyonce, complete with harmonica!!
