IYKZ

IYKZ (FKA IKES) is London born artist who began making music at the tender age of 14 as a garage mc . He honed his musical skills by studying the crafts of some of the greats; such as Tupac, Biggie, Michael Jackson and more. Hailing from the edge of Hackney, IYKZ was later affiliated with Indie label Reignassance, which was also home to such UK names as Chip, Random Impulse and Wizzy Wow. In 2010, he received rave reviews for his SB.TV Warm Up Session. A clip of his performance was later chosen by SB.TVfounder and entrepreneur Jamal Edwards MBE to feature in their Google Chrome advertising campaign, which aired on TV in 2012.

More recently, IYKZ last single ‘Clarity’ featuring British songstress Hayley Cassidy, under the Ikes moniker, was playlisted as a BBC Introducing track, the third time in his career. The single was also supported by renowned UK Radio 1/1Xtra DJ’s Charlie Sloth and DJ Target. In 2017 , IYKZ released the Afrobeat influenced single ‘’They Know ( Wan Mo )’’ with Maleek Berry of Star Boy Entertainment , which has garnered over 300,000 streams on Spotify and received support from DJ Target ( BBC 1XTRA).
