Judas Priest

Judas Priest were fantastic. Uriah Heep and Saxon were also impressive. As a Judas Priest fan, for me they were simply amazing. Halford keeps going and they took me back in time forty years ago, and then back to the present times with the two songs from Invincible Shield. Fantastic! Shame about the venue though, pretty much below average. And the gents toilets were an absolute disgrace. I really hope I never have to go to OVO Wembley Arena again.

Epic show all 3 bands brought it. Especially Saxon who got the crowd whipped into a frenzy before Priest even took the stage. running and jumping around the stage like they were still teenagers. Judas Priest themselves were epic, lost track of Rob's jacket changes. My throat is still sore from trying to sing along how that man sing like that after so long is nothing short of supernatural. Bottom line if you get the chance to see any of these bands grab it with both hands.

This was my 7th time seeing Judas Priest and the 50th Anniversary Tour was the best performance I have seen them perform ever. I have been watching a lot of live videos from this tour and there always seemed to be something off. Especially at times in the vocals. Not this past Tuesday night. I gave Rob grace for the first song as that is always a vocalists hardest part of the performance. Yet, Rob wasn’t too bad. A note or two weren’t stellar but again first song. The second song of the set blew me away. Riding on the Wind. A song I had not heard in a live setting since watching the US Festival on MTV which has always been my favorite heavy song of theirs because of the vocal performance which sounded like guitar pinch harmonics at the end of lines. We’re they there? No, but something better, note perfect belted shrieks and from there Halford never stood his ground nor gave ground but advanced and took ground and showed why he is the Metal God. On stage Right was guitar god Richie Faulkner. A guitarist ten years my junior who plays like the guitarists who influenced me as a player. Sheer pleasure to watch him play. He is the real deal guitar hero. A total package and perfect example of what would happen if you took all the heavy metal guitar gods salient points and combine those together and the result is better in all area than the ingredients which created it. To even top this is that he is an extremely humble man who absolutely adores his fans because he literally is a fan of the band he plays in himself. Maybe that is why you don’t constantly see him in magazines. He isn’t a Rock Star due to his personality. But the fact that he does open forum discussion sessions with Judas Priest fans on instagram on a regular basis is what makes him the penultimate rock star. One who likes to be accessible. On stage left was Andy Sneap filling the gigantic shoes of a Mr. Glenn Tipton. Who by the way, was hand picked by Glenn himself to stand in his stead. Andy is a legend in his own right as recording engineer and producer of some metals best loved albums. Sneap is no slouch on guitar either. Tonight, he started off seeming like he was trying to ask acceptance from the fans on stage, but quickly turned into just going with it and having fun playing for Priest, interacting with the audience, as well as sharing the stage with legends. Standing behind Sneap was Priest’s engine block(to use a automobile reference) Ian Hill. A musician who is “The” heavy metal bassist. He perfectly has done his job every time I have seen Judas Priest live. He is the foundation that anchors the drums to the guitars while providing the groove that the rest of the band must follow. He is just now the greyer and wiser looking man who is always in the same stage position just jamming out and holding it all together. Leaving center stage rear for the drum kit who upon it is Judas Priest’s artillery section Scott Travis. To describe this man is easiest done by saying that he is the combination of all previous drummers of the band, advance that combination a few generations while simultaneously drawing from modern styles of metal and their A list drummers and becoming the quintessential amalgamation of them all. The guy is a bad ass. Period. Who else could be a bette drummer for Priest at this stage? No one! Nothing more need to be did. The set list was a perfect representation of a Judas Priest beat down. They didn’t come to San Antonio (one of the towns who initially broke Judas Priest in the US) to reminisce of old times with old friends. Judas Priest came to give us a reminder of just who they are with a base of their fans who have forgotten who we all were. The band came to kick our ass and yeah they did. Not one song was announced (Green Manalishi) and there were only quick pauses and moments of silence between songs for the band to catch their breath before the next round of this beat down began. I wished they would have played another hour or two, but that would have become redundant. It was a perfect show as it was. It was a reminder of who San Antonio was and that we had just had our ass kicked by JUDAS FUCKING PRIEST!

Negative 5 stars worse concert experience I've ever had and I been to over hundred. I paid over $150.00 to see my favorite band I consider myself a Judas Priest super fan 9th time seeing them probably last. You ruined what should have been a beautiful night. You all are clueless when it comes to heavy metal fans. I was treated like a piece of shit. I wouldn't go back there if it was free. So metal heads if you wanna just stay in your seat and just stare at the band don't jump up down get crazy like we do wait see them somewhere else.

Queensryche was ok. Priest is always phenomenal, despite not having original guitarists. Rob picks his spots where he can hit the high notes. He's a bit lazy with the lyrics, and very laid back now onstage. But it's Priest, so. Our seats weren't as good as I thought they would be. One of the hanging strands of speakers was right in line with Ian Hill, so I did not see him at all. Also couldn't see drummer Scott Travis. Wish I had known that when I bought them, I woukd have picked another section, but hard to know that stuff.

Great seeing the Priest going 50 years in. First saw them in 1979 at NYC's Palladium. They wewre tight and Halford was on point hitting every note including the highs on Vicitm of Changes. Ian Hill was hidden for the most part taking his usual place on the back stage right. Glenn Tipton came out and played the encore songs. You can tell Parkinsons has slowed him but as a true metal warrior he soldiered on. So glad to see them out there.

Fantastic concert in Philadelphia at The Met. Judas Priest played for a solid hour and half with no breaks. It was loud and heavy from start to finish and did not disappoint. First concert seeing them so I can’t compare to others. They brought out Glenn for the last 4-5 songs so that was cool. Rob’s getting up there but he kept it going and the voice did not waver. Road crew and engineers put on a great visual show also with the set, props, and lighting. Would definitely catch them again.

First time in 40 years I have seen JP. A lot has changed for both of us in that time! Rob Halford isn't as dynamic as he once was (ditto!!) but the music is great and stands up to the test of time. Light show was decent too. Glen Tipton came on to strum a few bars in the encore. Poor chap is riddled with Parkinson's and looks frail, but I appreciate the visit Glen. All the best for whatever the future holds.

Priest were in top form last night here in Phoenix… Halford’s vocals were stellar these 50 plus years on!… A vocal powerhouse who has taken great care of his instrument, knowing when to save it, then unleashing his signature range and screams when it demanded!… Incredible tour de force mastery! … being a guitarist, it was amazing to see the mighty Faulkner shredding his fingers off only a few short months after a major heart attack and surgery! Brilliant playing!… The best part of the show was saved for last when out walked a true guitar legend and god… Glenn Tipton for the final encores!! What a night!

Ah’mazing!!!! I’ve seen them a dozen times starting in 86’ till present day and It was not only nostalgic but on point 💟 the fact that Rob Halford is 70 years old and can still hit those high notes is unbelievable on a sidenote Queensrÿche killed it the throaty undertones that were woven into the music gave me chills! I brought my daughter with me and it was her first time seeing Judas Priest and she said it was almost a surreal experience hearing the music that she grew up with all her life ,she loved it!!!

I loved every minute of the show! It was great to be able to go to a show that both bands were amazing. It really took me back to my 20s that’s for sure. One thing I have to say about Judas Priest is they really put on a show doesn’t matter how old we get they still got it! It was so amazing to see all the costume changes Rob Halford had. I tried to google it see what he was wearing at the very end it looked almost looked like he had backstage passes all over Levi duster. Scott Travis is still amazing on the drums And I love the fact that they showed us video of Glen Tipton playing. Judas Priest holds a very special place in my heart, being able to hang with them and my sister at shows are some of my favorite memories. I wore a locket with her ashes, unfortunately she passed away in 2020 at age 58. We had made made plans to go together. 😢❤️‍🩹🤘 We would have some of the best seats in the house standing on the sound board with Gungie! I hope that you guys enjoy your 50 year tour you guys deserve it you’ve been rocking us for over 52 years Judas Priest is one of the best metal bands in the world. Queensrÿche was amazing as well I love those guys it surely made up for going to Usana to see Queensrÿche and only Geoff Tate being there. If anyone is thinking about going to see this concert in other cities you will surely have a great time it is worthy of a standing ovation!! One of the things I noticed was that there were a lot of parents with their kids who had passed on the love of the Heavy Metal Gods. I love you Judas Priest I hope your anniversary tour is a huge success ask Ian to step out in front to receive the accolades that he truly deserves nothing but love and respect!!! I wish they had the VIP set up better, me and some other people weren’t sure where to pick up VIP passes, more sign usage would’ve been nice, I wasn’t sure if I was at the right place to begin with, no sign saying Warlando Festival, also they advertised a huge VIP check in sign but I didn’t see it there, they just had a piece of paper taped to a building. Judas Priest put on a great show though, Rob Halford is definitely a metal god.

First night of the Firepower Tour. Was awesome! Went on to see the two other legs of the tour. JP with DP in Philly and JP with Uriah Heep in Connecticut. Now I’m just hoping they make it back to North America for the 50th Anniversary Tour but looking at their current tour schedule I’m not holding my breath. Possibly Fall of 2020 but that would have them on the road longer than I think JP has ever been. Fingers crossed.

SO awesome! Loved every minute. Rob’s vocals are still top notch. Both the music and stage theatrics were excellent. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. My first time seeing them, and I will be back for more! I would have loved to hear a bit more of new album because it’s so fantastic. One of their best and one of the best albums of 2018. Usually when you go to a show of a band that’s been around a while, it’s like “please don’t play your new material bc it’s not as good.” But that’s not the case with Priest. Their new stuff slays. But I know they have such a big catalogue and a lot of hits to fit in and a lot of long-time fans to please. Really no complaints just thought I would add that as a compliment of sorts—don’t be afraid to play the new stuff, Priest, because it’s awesome!

Always a pleasure to see and hear these guys with their hard hitting brand of metal. They did a great cross section of songs from their massive catalog complete with screaming vocals and shredding guitars! Uriah Heep opened the concert and it was great to see and hear these guys as well who were a forerunner of if not an inventer of the metal genre itself. Not only that but in their five decade long career they are still creating new music to this day! In a nutshell a stonking good time!

2nd time to see the Metal Gods on the Firepower tour. Incredible deep set list, different than the 1st leg of the tour. Judas Rising, Halls of Valhalla, the Sentinel and Victim of Changes!!!! Plus no bs pretend break - rolled straight from Hell Bent for Leather into Breakin the Law and Living after Midnight. 🤘🏼. Knowing Glenn appearances will be very rare due to his health, Sneap does a solid job and holds his own. Hill & Travis like a heavy heavy metal train and Rob always delivers! True fans will love this tour and it’s clear the Priest ain’t gonna stop - even almost 50 years in.

I would love to give 5 stars on this as the band sounded incredible! The only problem was the set list. Look, I’m all for bands doing deep cuts and mixing up the set list, but you can’t take ALL of the biggest hits out and replace them with obscure songs. No Beyond the Realms of Death, no Turbo Lover, No You’ve Got Another Thing Coming, No When the Night Comes Down, probably the least liked track off of Painkiller was played. I mean, I love Priest, but my seats cost to much to just get the live version of album filler, I needed some, at least half of the show, maybe should have been hits! Priest sounded great but they were not delivering the goods! It was more like, You’ve got another B-side coming!

Uriah Heep put on a great show with lots of energy. Rob’s voice was honestly not as strong as last year, but it wasn’t bad by any means. The setlist was so exciting. I never thought I’d hear “Steeler”, “Out in the Cold”, or “All Guns Blazing” played live, but there they were. All eras were covered in a satisfying way. Would it be better with K.K. not Sneap? Probably. But he’s not helping his case by saying stupid things about the band at every opportunity. As long as Rob, Scott, and Ian are there I’m confident in calling this real Priest, and will continue supporting them.

Priest was the first band I ever listened to that got me into metal, and I finally got to see the one that started it all for me. My father seen priest back in 80 and 82 (Screaming for Vengance tour) , and finally are coursing him out of the house he went with me! 35 years later and he says Rob hasn’t missed a beat! Purple was awesome too! What a great show! I’ll definitely be seeing them both again if they come through.

Not sure why anyone would continue to rank bands today, against how they sounded 35 years ago, but that’s pretty bogus. Priest was awesome, when you consider Rob and Ian’s age, and the fact that Richie has only completed one tour and two albums with the band, they were better than expected!! My only issue with the show was that they only played about 10-12 songs. With Deep Purple being the headliner, Priest really didn’t get very deep into their 40+ year catalog.
