About South 65

South 65 is a solid, country/rock, kick ass kickabilly, band of seasoned musicians and long time friends. They are a bit of an anomoly in that, due to such varying influences and breadth of experience, there is almost no song they dont know or cant play. They regularly amaze audiences with their penchant for accepting song requests and, more often than not, wowing crowds in the process. How many bands could handle a request to play an Alice in Chains tune and then an old Elvis song that none of them had ever played together? And not just get through the songs, but play them well? Im guessing not many, because I know of only one: South 65.

Eric Clausen, Lead Vocalist/Guitars
Eric has been writing and performing various styles of music for over 20 years. Utilizing his gift for music, Eric has shined as an energetic performer with his soaring guitar melodies and vocals. While touring with the Young American Showcase, people took notice and his phone started ringing. He was in demand for top session calls, recording and performing with musicians such as Sklar and J.R. Richardson, Darby Todd and Collyn McCoy, Brian Otto, Rick Seratte, and Oscar Seaton. Eric has also done music for film and television, working with legendary music producer Mike Post, as well as other producers such as Atli Oversson, just to name a few. Additionally, Eric has just finished a new album with his band, Division Process, in which they are planning for an October release.

Patrick Hicks, Vocals/Guitars
Patrick Hicks has been playing guitar for more than 30 years. He has experience in such genres as country, classic rock, and blues. The blending of these styles is what is commonly referred to as that Bakersfield sound. He has played in countless local bands throughout the years as well as with many noteworthy professional musicians. He has played guitar for David Frizell, Shelly West, and Devin England to name a few. He has opened for such national acts as Tracy Lawrence, Charlie Daniels, Tim McGraw, and Merle Haggard. He is a published songwriter and affiliated with BMI, Writers Guild of America, and Nashville Songwriters Association International (

Alexander Jetton, Bass
In the role of bassist stands Alexander Jetton. A man of many talents and interests, Jetton also holds the position of South 65's Resident Quiet Rebel. Jetton first picked up the bass 26 years ago as a co-founding member (along with Eric Clausen) of the mid-90's, California Central Valley, original hard rock band, KingFish...who, while building a small but loyal fanbase, never realized any commercial opportunity. After KingFish, Jetton continued to perform live, before shifting his focus onto other areas of live entertainment / production...working in such areas as light/sound, stage management, and concert promotions with such bands as Cheap Trick, Journey, Hall & Oats, King's X, and others
Now, after a 15 year hiatus from performing, Jetton has returned to his true first passion as part of South 65's ever crucial rhythm section. Back on the bass, Jetton is a consummate "Groove-Meister" and is certain to get any foot tapping...and every "Booty" shaking on the dance floor, Anytime...Anywhere. And though his quiet, relaxed demeanor, and heavy brow may not show it...he is having a good time, and quite pleasant to be around.
