Rene Avila

A steady presence in the New York/New Jersey music scene for over 20 years, Rene has fronted rock bands - Chipper Dove, Maximum Overdrive. Laughin’ Luggage and most recently Sonic Embrace. Searching for an outlet to showcase his growing catalog of original music, in 2008 Rene began performing as a solo acoustic act, playing bars and clubs. He has also had the pleasure of opening up for some well know acts like Mike Tramp of White Lion, Ted Poley of Danger Danger, Pat Dinizio of The Smitherines and most recently sang Miles Away on Stage at Crossroads in Garwood, NJ with Kip Winger.

As a singer/songwriter/guitar player, he has performed at the ‘Gotta Sing’ singer’s showcase in NYC and regularly attends Open Artists Night at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

Rene continually adds new music to his ever-expanding repertoire of covers and originals. And in 2015, released a self-titled CD that includes 12 Original songs that range from hard rock party songs to heart-wrenching break up songs to romantic falling in love ballads.
