WE ARE CECILE, six friends from the westside of Germany. Even with their self-made demo “These Walls are Eyes” (2009) and their EP “Finally...We Have Come to a Pretty Pass“ (2011/Joost Van Den Broek, Amsterdam) as well as with lots of shows in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg, they’ve shown that modern Metal from Germany can be considered much more than nerdy music and cliché-overloaded tootling. As soon as the titanic front man Jan opens the show, even the uninvolved listener knows what is sure to happen next: In-Your-Fuckin'-Face, Baby. Not only are the brutal breakdowns, the poppy refrains and the mystic synthetic sounds what creates the intoxicating presence at the band`s live performances, but also the bonding passion of each and every one of the group – resulting in an obsession of perfection, creating an exceptional sound and songwriting. Besides their standing to be nonchalant heartbreakers, the two guitarists Christian Schwarz and Alex Freise work passionately on tricky elaborated arrangements, sometimes coming along quite aggressive, sometimes dressed in bitter-sweet pop hymns. Not to forget to mention those poppy sounds as the playing ground of the highly defined clean vocals of lead singer Max Küchenmeister. Italy-Import Mario Enrico Oliva and Christopher „Chrike“ Kreitzler complete the tremendous power loaded metal sextet with a creative and tight drum and bass set. WE ARE CECILE have been working steadily on their career for the past couple years, sharedthe stage with well-known acts such as „Upon This Dawning“(IT), „No Turning Back“(NL), „War From A Harlots Mouth“(GER), „First Blood“(US), „Texas In July“(US), „His Statue Falls“(GER), „EskimoCallboy”(GER) ...and know exactly what place they`re in, now: Just finishing a truly massive package of modern metal – Their debut record „The Odyssey“ (to be released soon).
