About Brother and The Hayes
Brother and The Hayes is the kind of band that makes any room feel like home. This Texas-born, Tennessee-based sibling duo—Jennie Hayes Kurtz and David Bingaman—bring to the stage an undeniable chemistry, sharp songwriting, and a groove-driven blend of Americana, folk, country, and blues. Their show is heartfelt, funny, and deeply musical—one moment they’ll have you leaning in for a lyric, the next you’ll be tapping your foot and singing along. With roots in the storytelling traditions of Guy Clark and John Prine, and the soulful sensibilities of Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones, Brother and The Hayes create a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh. Formed in Nashville in 2017, the band has released two full-length albums (Tennessee Nights and In Good Company) and a pair of EPs. Their latest record, co-produced with Diana Walsh, is a warm, retro-leaning journey through home, heartbreak, family, and finding your place in the world.
“There’s a crackling confidence here... Their plainspoken lyrics and undeniable
chops gives In Good Company a timeless warmth.
”
— Rachel Cholst, Adobe & Teardrops
Live, they shine—whether it’s just the two of them swapping harmonies and stories or their full band bringing down the house with rich arrangements and joyful energy. David’s a crack shot on his riff rifle and a sharp-witted storyteller; Jennie Hayes is a grounding force with a powerhouse voice and a natural way of connecting with the crowd. Together, they make audiences feel like part of the family. Don’t miss a chance to see their show that’s musically rich, emotionally real, and truly
entertaining, Brother and The Hayes is an unforgettable experience.
