About Torndown

Torndown is a hard rock band from New England. The group uses heavy, yet melodic riffs and heart-pounding percussion to energize their audience while at the same time projecting thought-provoking, meaningful lyrics to create a personal connection. They are honest and transparent about what motivates and inspires them, and what they aim to accomplish with their message of hope. The group is defined by the power of their live performances and the passionate, honest dedication of band members Tim Irish, Eric Armstrong, and Dan Kuchta. Tim offers, “It is our belief everyone can relate to a message involving good and evil...light and darkness...a message inspired from personal hardships but also immeasurable joy.” With this message in mind, the band went to work on their newest project, Live Again. Funded by their gracious fan-base and produced/recorded by Brandon Mills of Decyfer Down at his Fallen Sparrow Studio in North Carolina, Live Again is set for release in May. Each member views the band as a family. “I consider myself extremely fortunate to have bandmates like Eric and Dan” offers Tim. “When we write music, it comes naturally and it feels right. We know what each person is thinking. The end result is we appreciate each other’s passion, we have respect for each other, and each member’s talents are complimented by the others.” Eric adds “Tim was the best man at my wedding. Tim and I were groomsmen at Dan’s wedding. This goes so much deeper than getting together for rehearsals, writing sessions, and shows. These are my brothers.” Dan confirms “Tim and Eric are like brothers to me. When we aren’t making music together, we go out and have good times.” As part of their trip to North Carolina, the trio camped out for three consecutive nights, two of which included torrential downpour and heavy lightening. Back home, they are just as likely to be found cruising around on Tim’s boat as they are in the rehearsal space. “Our adventures are the stuff of legends” exclaims Dan. “Weathering a hurricane while camping! Sailing the high seas! It is always epic!” As a family, each individual contributes to the collective, broader vision of Torndown. The idea of family extends beyond the trio. The group recognizes that the only reason Live Again got off the ground in the first place is because of their extended family...their fans. “When we first launched our crowd-funding campaign, I had no idea what to expect” explains Eric. “But, before I knew it, we were talking about taking a road trip down to North Carolina to record at Brandon’s studio and a few months later the project was finished. It was a goal of ours for a long time to be able to take an extended trip out of state and work with a professional producer. For that opportunity, I will forever be in debt to the people who supported us in the early stages.” Dan adds “We couldn’t have completed this project without the support of our fans. Seeing how much they supported and believed in us was both humbling and inspiring.” Tim offers “The support of the fans afforded us what I consider to be the opportunity of a lifetime. They’ve partnered with us and allowed our passion to be pursued. For that, I will forever be grateful.” The message is a simple one. Light will always win out over darkness. Good will always prosper over evil. “We share relatable struggles and challenges of life” offers Dan. “Then we illustrate how people can overcome those struggles.” Tim adds “We don't stray away from the human struggles of this world. Instead, we embrace them...so we can defeat them. Our faith has driven us to embrace the inevitable darkness we all face in this life and drag that darkness into the light.” Even with their core beliefs, Torndown’s reach stretches beyond simply spiritual circles. In fact, the group is just as comfortable playing in clubs as it is faith-based events and churches. “The truth is, Christian or not, we all have our daily struggles” Eric shares. “Our hope is that everyone can connect with our message of positivity and use it to overcome their own personal struggles.” As Torndown looks ahead, the group hopes to build on the knowledge gained while bringing Live Again from inception to completion. “We are all soaring on a high right now” explains Tim. “But we don’t want to stop pushing. We are doing everything in our power to get the recording out to as many people as possible. We have big plans that we are working on behind-the-scenes and I look forward to continuing the pursuit of our passion to make music.” Eric adds “We learned a lot through this process. We learned a lot about the support from our fans, what it takes to make a professional recording, and what we’ll need to do if we want to continue down this path for the recording to be successful. My goal for myself and for the band is that we are never satisfied with mediocre.” Dan offers “I just want to keep pushing the limits of what we create and strive for excellence. I’m really excited about the doors this project could potentially open up for us. Regardless of how it all pans out, I just want to keep pushing it while having fun and enjoying the adventure.” http://www.breakthechains2017.com
