About Tinush

The first contact with an instrument Tinush Salehi had in 1994, when he put his four-year-old fingers on the keys of a keyboard, which had been given to him by his parents for Christmas. "The best Christmas present I've ever received," as he himself says, quickly sparked curiosity for compositions and productions. He waived professional assistance in learning the musical theory and practice, instead he learned and practiced in an autodidactic way by playing along his favorite songs by ear. At the age of 13 Tinush discovered sequencers like Magix Music Maker or Propellerhead's Reason. In these virtual environments he could experimentally explore different genres, to grasp the logic of electronic music production. From here it was not far to the realms of electronic music. These were not just geographically located in his hometown Dortmund, but in 2007 slowly developed into an intimate love relationship between the teenager and electronic music. His own productions, which he now arranges with Steinberg's Cubase, sounded increasingly solid.

In retrospect he sees his work from that time oriented very close to mainstream, yet Tinush still gets something out of this stage of his biography: "Looking back it has not necessarily been my glory days, but it has nevertheless led me to where I am today." After 2 years full of experiments he now feels comfortable with the production of "club music". Gradually he defined a clear style that characterizes Tinush until today. His experiences and short term affairs with jazz and orchestral music are very obvious in his works and flow into almost all of his recent production.

After his high-school diploma Tinush decided not to finish his studies in "Film Music Composition“ in favor of his musical maturation. A decision he never regretted: "I felt never in the right place, because there was always the music on, which had intrigued me. The dream of trying to become a musician, and thus to deny my livelihood, perhaps, was a daring decision and I always carry the risk to fail with me, but until now I can only say that I am glad to have made this step!“ And we are just as glad!

Be it Berlin, his current home, be it Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Vienna or Zurich, Tinush is in demand in the scene and booked as never before! This is also demonstrated by its nearly 70.000 Soundcloud followers. Not only in terms of numbers he does play in a league with Kölsch, Worakls and Nils Hoffmann.
