About The Silence Kit

The Silence Kit plays textured, moody rock music. Half the band lives in New Jersey and the other half lives in Philadelphia, PA. Inspired in equal parts by post punk, shoegaze, neo-psychedelia, avant-garde and indie rock, the band was started back in 2002 as a solo home recording project and gradually developed into the four-piece band they are today. The band's first release "In Regulated Measure" was released in 2006 and reviews, often drawing comparisons to bands like The Chameleons, The Sound, The Cure, Joy Division and David Lynch movies soon followed.
The band's second full length album, entitled "A Strange Labor" was released in July of 2008. The album shows The Silence Kit expanding their signature sound even further, while exploring elements of melodic rock that the band had only briefly touched upon in the past.
