The Damned And Dirty

The Damned and Dirty is one of the most exciting and innovative duos in the blues tradition. The core is delta blues, with fingerpicking, wailing blues harp, screaming slide guitar and raw vocals. They've also succesfully tried their hand at country, jazz, pop and rock. What started out as a side project of Kevin de Harde and Micha Sprenger grew bigger fast after their first release titled The Damned and Dirty in 2012. At first not having planned any live performances they released it digitally for free (it still is!). Fans of the album started requesting live shows and they knew this was no longer just a side project. Many live performances followed and in 2013 they released their second album Sell Your Soul. In March 2014 their band BluesMotel officially disbanded, meaning The Damned and Dirty is now their main focus. Their third album Rolling Into Town was presented in famous Paradiso, Amsterdam in November. On their albums they are free to explore avenues that are unavailable as a duo, adding drums, organ, percussion, bass and more to the mix, all based on the same core concept of acoustic guitar, vocals and bluesharp. Their first three albums have all won the award for "Best Blues Album" (presented by the Dutch Blues Foundation) three years in a row. Guitarist Micha Sprenger is a music teacher graduate from the High School of Performing Arts in Rotterdam. He works and lives in Amsterdam. As well as being a guitarist and songwriter Micha also teaches music and guitar. Vocalist and harmonicist Kevin de Harde has seen countless blues clubs inside and out and has shared the stage with countless blues artists. He delivers gutsy vocals, thought provoking lyrics and a blues harp style to melt the most cynical heart. The Damned and Dirty is one of the most exciting and innovative duos in the blues tradition.
