About Stigmata

Stigmata was formed in 2002 by Taras Urmanskiy (Guitar) and Dennis Kitschenko (Bass guitar) but they did not have a name. The band did get it's name a few month later however. Some journalists have said that the bands name has a religious background. In 2004 two new members joined the band: Nikita Ignatjew (Drums) and vocalist Artjom Lozki. At the beginning of being a band, they organized their own concerts and a music video on their own. The same year they also signed a recording contract with the Russian music label Kap-Kan Records and also recorded their first full-length album entitled Конвеер снов (English: Conveyor Of Dreams).The album was released in Sep 2004, and re-released in May 2005.

The Bands third album Больше чем любовь (More than Love) was released in September 2005. And in the spring of 2006 Stigmata released a DVD called Pieces of Live consisting of 17 tracks. In the same year Nikita Ignatjew left Stigmata and was replaced by Phil Terpezki with Andrej Anissimow becoming the new guitarist. In December of 2006 Stigmata released their first single called Лед (Ice). The song was a successl and ranked in the Russian Alternative Charts. The band also won at the St. Petersburg Music Awards 2007 in the Category Song of the Year for their song Ice. Ice was also released in the English and is available to download on their ReverbNation profile.

Stigmata toured through Belarus, Estonia, Lithuania and the Ukraine on their first tour and shared the stage with Pleymo and Natalie Imbruglia on Russia's biggest Rock music festival "The Wings".
The year 2007 started with a tour through Russia with Killswitch Engage and Caliban. Their second single Сентябрь (September) was released the same year. Stigmata then signed to Navigator Records and produced the fourth studio album Stigmata. At the end of 2007 Phil Terpezki left the band with Fjodor Loschkin replacing him as the new Drummer of Stigmata.

In 2008 the band released their second DVD entitled Acoustic & Drive. Following this In 2009 the band released their third single Взлёт и Падение (Rise and Fall) and also their fifth studio album Мой путь (My Way). The album was released in two versions: A normal version with 10 tracks and a Digital version with a Intro, Outro and three music videos. In the summer of 2010 the band played with Bullet for My Valentine during some of their concerts.And a year later the band shared the stage with Jane Air and The Korea.

Stigmata has since decided to let their fans to chose the song in which to make a new video. The fans chose the song ‘Dance’. The subsequent video turned out to be completely opposite to ‘My Way’. Stigmata decided not to do any touring or gigs throughout the summer of 2011, instead choosing to work on their fifth studio album, but they have chosen to perform at the major festivals. Stigmata are also doing TV series name 'SUPERKOZA' where they talk about the band and also show some rare footage. The Russian TV Channel A-One is one of the bands promoters next to the Russian versions of BRAVO and Vic Firth.
