Snowman zadebiutował na polskim rynku fonograficznym w 2008 roku krążkiem Lazy. Płyta została entuzjastycznie przyjęta zarówno przez słuchaczy jak i krytyków. Po niezapomnianym koncercie premierowym w Studio im. A.Osieckiej zespół uzyskał nominację do prestiżowej nagrody Mateusze 2009 radiowej Trójki. Dla scharakteryzowania ich muzyki użyto wielu określeń: post rock, jazz, elektronika, trans jazz, rock progresywny, psychodelia, gitarowa alternatywa lub po prostu eksperyment. Snowman regularnie grał na prestiżowych imprezach i festiwalach m.in: Gdynia Summer Jazz Days, trzykrotnie na Malta Festival, Opener 2011, Nowe Nurty, Globalbeat, Festiwal Rockowy Węgorzewo, Festiwal filmowy Dwa Brzegi 2010, Niewinni Czarodzieje 2010, Festiwal w Jarocinie, Europrowincjonalia, TR Warszawa, Prezydencja 2011... Utwór ‘Name Day!’ znalazł się na składance "OFFENSYWA 3” Trójki, ‘Lazy’ pojawił się na składance "We are from Poland vol. 3” a "Combustion Lane” na składance "Alternativepop vol.1”. Wygrali konkurs Off Festiwalu i ONET.PL. Supportowali Archive, amerykańskie Karate oraz francuski skład Yanna Tiersena (twórca muzyki do „Amelii” i „Goodbye Lenin”). Tumultuous career at home and abroad. Snowman were formed in 2002, and have since given over one hundred concerts in Poland and Germany (Berlin), as well as made a successful tour of Paris venues. In atunn 2008 band relsie first album „Lazy“ They attract their listeners with image (their performances are accompanied by visualisations) and arrest them with the sound. Attempts to pigeonhole the group’s work prove very difficult. Countless labels have been used to describe their music: post rock, jazz, electronic, trans jazz, progressive rock, psychedelic music, guitar alternative; sometimes attempts to classify them are simply confined to the drawer marked “experiment”. They have been associated with and compared to Pink Floyd, Mogwai, Coldplay, Legendary Pink Dots, Dave Matthews Band or even Janis Joplin and Norah Jones. Would this mean that like any intriguing art, the music and images created by the Poznań-based band elude any categorisation? Their participation in a great variety of music events and also the reviews they get, which attempt at finding correspondences between the music they make and the one made by an extremely broad range of different artists, bear witness to the width of the music spectrum they can achieve and an original style that is so hard to define – a mixture of jazz, post-rock and electronics offering a warm sounding melody and at the same time either a little bit trans-like song or an instrumental composition with a characteristic trans-like theme. apart from their own creative compositions, Snowman composed music for film: -The shine through” (produced by The Association), - two film etudes by Mariusz Suszek, a student of Polish Film School in Lodz and -silent film by F.W. For a number of years, Snowman have been associated with ‘Malta’ International Theatre Festival: in 2004 they performed in the ”Nowe Nurty”(New Waves) section; in 2005, they played a concert in Jarocin as part of the “Malta na Bis”; last year they appeared in the “Maltańska Scena Muzyczna” programme. They have also musically accompanied a number of ‘Maltese’ performances by Teatr Usta Usta (Mouth to Mouth): “oundtracks for “Driver” (2004), “Cadillac” (2005), “Alice 0 700 188 188” (2005), “Embassy” (2006) As well taken part in diverse way, another important festivals, events such as: International Film Festival „One Minute”, Gdynia Summer Jazz Days, Union of Rock, Central European Festival of Alternative Music „Globalbeat” Pilsner Urquell Summer Scene, International Film Festival “Europrowincjonalia” Street Art International Festival, Events Worth Poznan and have won The Young Polish Bands Festival (December 2005).
