Shannon LaBrie is a Nashville based singer-songwriter who brings life to insightful stories of a woman who remains true to herself in a life where only uncertainty is certain.

The songstress grew up on a farm near Lincoln, Nebraska and attributes her career start to her Dad, who passed away when she was just thirteen. “He taught me my first guitar chords and the basic structure of a song. When he passed away, songwriting became my way of grieving and dealing with the pain.”

She is now set to release her follow up LP “Building” on Moraine Music. Listeners got a first taste of the album with her current single “Firewalker,” a heroic anthem NPR named Top 20 of 2020 describing the anthem as, “a spirited statement to keep soldiering on” while American Songwriter calls it, “a ray of light that can guide you through each day.” Produced by multi-Grammy Award-winners, Brent Maher and Charles Yingling, Building will be available on all digital retailers.

The 7-track release was written throughout 2019 yet each song holds significant importance and relevance now more than ever regarding the current state our world is in. Building offers listeners a journey to self-discovery and reflection with songs about finding strength in pain, spiritual guidance, and words that turn to bullets as the timely song “The Things We Say” does singing, “The things we say, it’s the weapon of the age.” The talented wordsmith wrote or co-wrote on every track, bringing words of willful hope in songs like “Raining Hallelujah” while she creates a sense of calm in “Angels Fall” through the use of the main guitar riff fluttering throughout as the song continues to build on top: “Angels fall from the sky, every so often I feel the wind from a pair of wings, pushing me to better things.”

As the world continues to navigate through the ever-changing tide of 2020, LaBrie’s title track “Building” reminds listeners that life is exactly that, an ever-changing tide that continues to build with each experience acting as a building block to the next. LaBrie recounts a heart-wrenching moment , which inspired the song, the morning after a disastrous Tornado ripped through her Nashville neighborhood in March of 2020 seeing a couple holding each other tight in front of their house, which had been devastated. “I will always think of that couple when I sing this song”, says Labrie.

A favorite among music fans and critics alike, LaBrie is a fearless performer whose music possesses a unique blend of Americana and Soul. She achieved over 12M streams and received rave reviews from Rolling Stone, CMT, NPR and more for her powerful 2016 album “War & Peace.” as well as for her recent single “Firewalker”. And with the upcoming album, Shannon LaBrie is definitely busy building.

As a songwriter, LaBrie’s songs have been recorded by a diverse group of artists. LaBrie and Robert Randolf wrote, “She Got Soul,” a song featured on his Grammy-nominated album. Beyond Randolph, a number of artists have recorded Labrie’s songs that range from Gabe Dixon to Lillie & Madaline to European DJ, Boogie Pimps. Shannon’s music has also been featured in numerous television shows and films.
