About Paolo Baldini DubFiles
Paolo Baldini was born in Pordenone, in 1975. With his first band, B.R. Stylers, he stood out on the
Italian reggae scene thanks to the massive use of electronics and British-inspired sounds, which still are his
distinctive features today.
In 2006 Baldini joined the longest-lived italian reggae band Africa Unite as bass player and co-producer of two
albums ("Controlli" and "Rootz"). The collaboration with Madaski gave rise to The Dub Sync project, in which
Baldini worked as a producer (two albums: Dub Ex Machina and The Dub Sync) as well as bassist for live shows.
In 2014 Baldini made his debut with his solo project Paolo Baldini DubFiles, focused on his work as a
dubmaster, making the self-titled album.
In February 2015 he traveled to Jamaica to record what it would become his second album "At Song
Embassy Papine Kingston 6 ", borned from the collaboration with numerous artists from the island.
In the following years, he toured extensively in Europe and America, performing in some of the biggest reggae
festivals in the world such as Rototom Sunsplash (Spain), No Logo (France), Jamming Festival (Colombia)
and Sierra Nevada World Music Festival (USA).
The two-years 2018/2019 was a very prolific studio work period: Baldini produced "To the Foundation" by
Forelock & Arawak, "Large" by Mellow Mood and their respective dub sequels: "To the Foundation of
Dub" and "Large Dub". All these albums are released on Baldini's label, La Tempesta Dub, which he manages
with Mellow Mood.
In early 2020, Baldini released a collaborative album with Dan I and Imperial Sound Army, entitled
"Dolomites Rockers". In 2020 and 2021 Paolo made several productions in his studio, including the
collaboration with the historical label Pressure Sounds and the creation for the Echo Beach label of two album
of dub versions in which he remixes some hits by Dubblestandart and Noiseshaper.
