Mosca

Hi I'm Mosca, a DJ/producer from London, and this is just a little something about what I'm doing in 2015. I make and run a mixture of underground club music mainly inspired by dub, house, techno, grime and jungle, but also influenced by east coast hiphop, afro house from South Africa and beyond, Shaolin soul, some postrock and indie from my youth, first wave electro, stripped down ragga and dancehall, the odd bit of stripped back ghetto stuff, lots of beats from around the world as well as film soundtracks etc etc. I try and only run sounds that make my heart really feel something, and for me that's a lot of slightly dissonant or darker-edged stuff mixed with a sense of soul and sexiness and, without trying to sound like a dick, classiness. Nothing too over the top, you know what I mean? Cutting edge but not just for the sake of sounding new. All that energy from the club mixed with experimentalism and soul, and a visual element too. I've been on radio a fair bit, from Ustream sessions in a mate's tower block back in the day to primetime BBC Radio 1, Rinse, Deja, Redlight, RBMA and more but right now I call the amazing NTS home (more good music than it's ever possible to keep up with). My show is the second Wednesday of the month, 7-9pm UK time, and past guest mixes on the radio include Untold, Culoe De Song, DJ Qu, Markus Suckut, Lee Gamble, Golden Teacher, Roman Lindau, The Maghreban, Giles Smith, Chevel, Ethyl, BNJMN, Coni, Minor Science, Bleaching Agent, Samuel, Bleak, Yaleesa Hall, SP-X, Marco Bernardi, plus loads more lined up for this year as well.
