About John Leonard
Originally from a small town near Raleigh, Carolina, John Leonard founded the bands Mom's Laundry Money, Dog Spit, and The Blitz prior to moving to the West Coast. All three bands saw some regional suceess selling tapes, CDs and selling out regional venues such as the Lincoln Theater.
Once in California, John founded the grunge rock band Animal Style. After splitting with the bassist and drummer, John Leonard and Evan Demko teamed up with Justin Gardner and Loren Caler to form the rock band, Breakhouse.
Currently, John is writing and recording new music for the progressive San Diego band, War for Candy, on synthesiszers. This marks a evolution from past bands where John was frontman and guitarist. In addition to his work in War for Candy, he is recording music and playing rare solo shows playing guitars, keyboards, vocals and bringing in special guests.
