Holiday Mountain

Holiday Mountain is an electronic indie pop duo founded by American-Mexican songwriter Laura Patiño and Jewish-American producer Zander Kagle. The two first met in a dark and dank Boston DIY basement show where Zander was playing drums for a punk band and Laura was being kept distracted by her friends who didn't want to inform her that her beloved goldfish Garbanzo had been eaten by a cat. After some casual internet stalking, the two decided to hang out and quickly began creating music together while Laura was attending Berklee College of Music. Together they found a genre-expanding sound, fusing together their affinity for electronic, folk, and pop to create a force so strong that when describing their sound, NPR exclaimed "resistance is futile." "After witnessing their atomic live set, you'll be rendered breathless," says SPIN magazine, who also named the band one of their favorite things from SXSW 2015. "Make sure to watch to the end" urges The Wall Street Journal, as audience members are regularly exposed to glittery crowd surfing, sweaty drum solos, and being fed cake until they reach "a cacophonous climax."
