I LOVE THESE GUYS AND I LOVE THE OBSERVATORY!! I was a little disappointed by the mosh pit. It wasn’t as big as it was when I first saw them and 2 of the openers really disappointed me.

About Fury

Fury may refer to two bands: mostly a Washington DC Hardcore band, but possibly an Australian Thrash Metal band from Broken Hill now called The Harrowed.

Jay Flores was born on December 19, 1985 in Bristol, CT. Having a Philipino, French, Spanish and Italian background, his ethnic diversity served as almost a precursor to the music he would create years later. Coming from humble beginnings, Jay spent his early childhood growing up in a small Bristol housing project finding heroin needles in his own backyard, with his family trying best to get by. However, the struggles he experienced as a youth taught him to constantly work towards distant goals and reach out and grab his dreams, no matter how high the stakes. Constantly misunderstood by his friends and family, some even called him “crazy”. When in the 7th grade, Jay adopted the name “Fury” after a physical altercation involving a racist classmate. It was at age thirteen when Jay first discovered his passion for being a hip-hop artist. His ambition was evident from the start, as he recruited several friends to be at his side for the adventure he was about to embark on. What started as a pipedream slowly began to take shape, as Jay formed his own independent record label, “Leathal Wreckords”. Teaming up with a childhood friend and forming the now locally legendary recognized rap group Kapital Punishment, Fury with partner Ether recorded and released many projects together, including the professionally pressed album "Lifes Work", and released several other collaborative mixtapes and albums locally alongside his labelmates. Through constant street hustling and vigorous self-promotion, Jay’s fanbase steadily grew into one of the New England region’s most loyal underground followings. However, that was just the tip of the iceberg for the man known as Fury, as he set his sights on national recognition.

Starting off playing at small, local venues, Jay and the LW camp eventually became mainstays at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT. He has also played shows at the Living Room in Providence, RI and Peabody’s in Cleveland, OH. Jay’s resume grew as he performed alongside successful national acts Tech N9ne, Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, Mindless Self Indulgence and The Pharacyde, just to name a few. However, his lifelong dream was realized the night he played a show alongside the Grammy-winning and Platinum-record selling Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs ‘N’ Harmony. For Jay, playing a show with his childhood hero became the highlight of his fledgling career. Bizzy Bone and Jay had great chemistry both on and off-stage, and the two worked on several collaborations, as well as potential future projects and shows. Since then, Jay has shared the stage with Bizzy Bone on several more occasions.

Following struggles with unmotivated group members and several other internal difficulties and setbacks, Jay decided to start anew. Fury broke away from the group Kapital Punishiment and was reborn as a solo artist. He then set out to make the impact he had always envisioned, even if it meant going at it alone. He went back to the drawing board and began to form the blueprint to what would be his debut LP as a solo artist. It was his “Plan B”, which was soon adapted as the album’s name. Always regarded as a personal artist who holds nothing back from his fans, Jay spent the better part of two years grooming the record. Old songs were scrapped, new songs were written, new collaborations were recorded…For Jay, it was all part of an on-going process to create his own personal masterpiece to share with the world.

Jay let his versatility and talent as an artist shine through on “Plan B”. As a self-taught producer with musical knowledge passed down from his grandfather and father who were both popular local entertainers, Jay did not hesitate in making up for lost time. Pouring his heart and soul into this project, he explored several different avenues with his music. His heartfelt poetry and raw emotion are felt on tracks such as “Be Right Back”, “Jay’s Song 2006”, “Be Myself Again” and the biographical “Irving Street”, which chronicles his rap career from the very beginning to present day. His fiery lyrical presence and strength as an emcee are showcased in songs such as “Plan B”, “Step On You” and “From The Ashes”. Jay sought out the best talent from both the underground and mainstream to add their creative input to the album. Aside from his LW labelmates, everyone from independent regional favorites Q Strange and Menacide to national superstars such as Gold-record selling gangsta rap legend Spice 1, Detroit hip-hop’s own King Gordy, and childhood hero Bizzy Bone all contributed their talents to the project. Powerful, crisp and sensual production provided the perfect musical backdrop to the tracks which were recorded.

After negotiations with several major labels fell through, Jay decided to release “Plan B” independently through his own Leathal Wreckords label. On Halloween 2006, the end result from years of blood, sweat, tears and countless months of hard work finally paid off, as “Plan B” was released nationally through several online retailers in a limited 1000 copy pressing. Old and new fans alike were treated to an incredibly diverse album, and many felt as if they knew both Jay Flores and Fury after listening to the record.

Some independent artists seem content with catering to a local fanbase for the rest of their careers. Jay is quite the opposite, as he constantly sets his sights higher. While the release of “Plan B” can be considered the end of one journey, it is only the beginning of another, and Jay Flores is ready to take on any and every obstacle thrown his way with an unmatched FURY like no other…...leave Fury some love here as well... or hit him up on aim at "planbfurylw"
