About Julie Kinscheck
Julie Kinscheck is a Christian artist with a kick of jazz. Singing since she could talk, playing guitar and writing songs since age 9, Kinscheck is passionate about God, music and using it to bring hope, heart and some fun- along the way.
“She has a voice like an angel”- Christine Arsenault, fan
“Julie’s voice always moves my soul”- Gail Scott-Key, Entertainment now
“She’s like Edie Brickell, but better”- Debbie Catalano, Performer Magazine
Kinscheck has vocal chops for sure, (she is a voice professor), but she’s also a storyteller. She made some bad choices, like most of us, before finding her faith in her late 20’s… and the pain and heart-break, the almost losing her career to vocal damage… her crazy hippy past, and her transformation, facing infertility, raising twins… all figure into the artist she has become. It all spills out in her powerful, vulnerable and often humorous lyrics and live stories.
You can hear some of her early influences like Carole King, JT, Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt in her songs, but also the artists she covered during and after leaving Berklee like Manhatten transfer, Ella Fitzgerald, Madonna and Chaka Kahn, and finally , current Christian artists like Francesca Battistelli, CAIN, Casting Crowns and Hillsong all there in her music.
When she’s not singing about her faith, or struggles, she’s singing about her incredible twins Hannah and Caleb. Or you might catch her jamming with talented keyboard playing, audio engineer husband Ralph Kinscheck, Ralphykeys!
